Janet Paleo knows firsthand the distress a child can face. “I actually had a suicide plan before the age of 5,” she said.Similar attempts crept back into Paleo’s life a number of times until she was directed to get the appropriate help. Now as Paleo sits and talks to lawmakers years later, she’s encouraged they are looking to intervene early with kids like her who needed help.
