Kevin Hines said that he felt \u201cinstant regret\u201d the moment he gave in to despair and catapulted himself over the railing of San Francisco\u2019s Golden Gate Bridge, plummeting to the waters beneath. He\u2019s here to tell his tale only because Sgt. Kevin Briggs of the California Highway Patrol witnessed his plunge and was already on his way to intervene.<\/p>\n

Hines, now an author and inspirational speaker, and Briggs, now retired, reunited before an audience at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich on April 24 to talk about suicide prevention.<\/p>\n
